Emission Reduction Unit (ERU) refers to the reduction of greenhouse gasses, particularly under Joint Implementation where it represents one ton of CO2 reduced. Industries that fall under the regulations of the European Emission Trading Scheme (EUETS) can use these credits to partly fulfill their green house gas obligations.
